Elder Mediation
Protect the Rights of Elder Person within a Circle of Care
Elder Mediation refers to mediation where the dispute involves or is about an older adult and another party. The conflict can be the result of disagreements between parent and child, among adult siblings or between family members and a third party such as a treatment provider or special care residence regarding the older adult. In its worst form the conflict can manifest in abuse of the older adult – financial, psychological and physical.
Core to PRM Mediation’s approach to elder issues is to protect the rights and well-being of the elder person, strengthen and build family relationships and to create a circle of care around the elder person that includes family, friends and community and private care givers.
